Yes, Biz is my name. It’s not a cool riff on the word “business”.
(But I guess it could be. If I were cool… I’ve had the name since I was a little kid. Short for “Elizabeth”. Only the IRS calls me “Elizabeth.” Or it was part of the phrase, “Elizabeth! Just wait till your Father gets home!”)

When my Mom died all I wanted was family photos from when I was growing up. There was one shoebox full. Just one.
I don’t want that to happen to you.
I miss the people in my life who are gone. What photos I have I look at and feel my family with me.
And the older I get , the more I love to see those snapshots of me growing up, moments in my life I shared with others.
When I was a kid, I spent hours poring over family photos, looking at the people, the places, and the get-togethers.
My Dad gave me my first camera when I was eight years old, so I helped create some of those images growing up.
And there are a lot of pics of my Mom, my Dad, and my sister, I’m not in because I was the one taking those photos.
(And look! I have the same haircut!)
I’m Biz—a photographer who once swore I’d never photograph people.
Before I became a full-time photographer, I lived many lives. As an internationally renowned professional skier, I finished 9th overall in the Women’s Speed Skiing World Cup in 1984. I was the first female Operations Director for a ski area in North America. As a stockbroker and a REALTOR, I delivered exceptional outcomes and built real wealth for my clients. Each career taught me something unique about focus, connection, trust, excellence, and storytelling. Those careers shaped my ability to exceed client expectations in every detail. Those lessons now shape every experience I create for my clients behind the camera.
I began my photography journey in the commercial photography world, capturing architecture, food, and products with precision and control. It was clean, safe, and emotionless.
My photography life changed direction when a friend asked me to take family photographs. I realized portraits aren’t just images. These portraits serve as emotional time capsules that capture presence while establishing connections and preserving memories. These photographs enable us to experience again the affection, humor, and quiet moments which we strive to remember forever.
That realization changed my path.
Today, I specialize in portrait sessions that go far beyond “smile for the camera.” Whether we’re capturing your family, building your personal brand, or creating a professional headshot, I focus on making you feel confident, relaxed, and truly seen.

These are a few things I believe:
Everyone needs to and deserves to be in front of the camera.
Using the self timer on your fancy camera or taking selfies with an iPhone does not count.
No matter how grumpy you think your children or spouse or partner are I can handle them I promise.
Photo sessions are something to look forward to not to stress over.
